Tell us a story about volunteering!

Dear Volunteers,

It’s time once again for our Annual Volunteer Appreciation Party, and this year we’d like to hear from YOU–about your experiences, lessons learned, challenges and success stories as you’ve walked alongside our clients.

At the party, you, or one of us if you’re shy, will share some of your pieces with everyone. Each of you have had such a wide variety of experiences, and we look forward to hearing all you have to say.

Here are some questions/prompts to get you started; however, if something comes to mind and it doesn’t fit these prompts, that doesn’t matter, please send it along.

• What's one of your favorite life-lessons, taught to you by a client?

• How has volunteering impacted your life and connections outside of CfS?  

• Do you happen to have a volunteer 'blooper,' where things went awry, but still turned out okay?

• Tell a story of how you have grown as a volunteer, through working with a client.

Please keep your response to 5 minutes; try reading it aloud and timing yourself.

If you cannot attend the party but want to submit something, please do!

We expect there may be so many stories/comments/wisdom we can’t read them all. If this happens, we’ll print them out and place them on the dining tables for all of us to read. 

Please send your response by Monday, September 14, to Denise at denise.glover@cfsolace.org and she’ll compile them all and share them with staff. We’ll let you know in advance if your story is chosen to read at the party.
